Cedar Trails Elementary Assistant Principal
Ms. O’Brien has been working in education for 16 years, and is excited to be returning as the Assistant principal at Cedar Trails Elementary School for the 2022-2023 year!
Ms. O'Brien has her B.A. in Language and Literature and Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership through Grand Valley State University.
Her family is a huge part of who she is, with two children (a boy and a girl), and two dogs (Moose and, Eleanor Rigby) the fun never ends!
The biggest reason I love what I do is working with students, parents, and teachers to build relationships to help students learn and grow, academically and socially, to be the best version of themselves.

Mr. Becker has worn many hats in his 14 years in education.
After graduating from the University of Iowa, he spent seven years in Houston, Texas teaching high school social studies.
Eight years ago, he moved back to Grand Rapids, MI where he started his career in administration. He worked as the Assistant Principal at Wellspring Preparatory Academy, ran the alternative Learning Center for Wyoming Public Schools, was Dean of Students at Kenowa Hills High School, Assistant Principal at Newaygo Middle School, and led as the head football coach at both Wyoming and Kenowa Hills. He is very excited to be at Cedar Springs to plant some roots and grow as a leader.
Outside of school he can be found grilling, traveling, and spending time with his wife Erica, and three kids Olivia (6), Claire (4), and Lucas (3).
He can not wait to connect with students, staff, and the families of Cedar Springs.
